The icicle binding is one of the few strong knots that can be tied to a smooth pole. One of the special features of this knot is that it can withstand a great deal of tension along the shaft of the smooth slide. It's very useful when you pull out the rod.
Tools/Materials
1
A rope
2
A rod
Methods/Steps
1
Bend a rope loop around the post.
2
Then go around a couple of times, more times if you want to get a little bit stronger, just by heart.
3
Bend the end of the rope to the right, remember to go under the right end of the rope, and then bend a loop around the pole.
4
Here comes the quintessential part, take the small rope loop on the right, cross it over the two wires formed by the end of the rope, and put it on the rod head.
5
Arrange and tighten to complete the icicle knot.
