Rodenticide poisoning

1. Anthol rodenticide poisoning. This is a powerful rodenticide, white odorless crystalline powder, causing increased pulmonary capillary blood permeability, a large amount of plasma into the lung tissue, resulting in pulmonary edema. A few minutes to a few hours after ingestion, the dog vomits, foaming at the mouth, followed by diarrhea, cough, dyspnea, mental depression, visible mucosal cyanosis, and foamy blood-colored mucus from the nose. Coma and drowsiness usually occur 10-12 hours after ingestion, and a few die within 2-4 hours after ingestion. There is no specific antidote for this poisoning, which can be used to induce vomiting, gastric lavage, catharsis and diuresis.

2. Zinc phosphide poisoning. It's a commonly used rodenticide in the form of a gray powder. A few days after ingestion, it mixes with water and stomach acid in the stomach, releasing hydrogen phosphide and causing severe gastroenteritis. The affected dog has abdominal pain, no food, persistent vomiting, lethargy, fast and deep breathing. Suffocation, diarrhea, blood in stool. CuSO4 can be administered with 0.2%-0.5% of CUSO4. Solution 10-30 ml to induce vomiting and discharge gastric poison. A 0.02%KMnO4 solution is used for gastric lavage, followed by 15 grams of Na2SO4 for catharsis. Intravenous hypertonic glucose solution is beneficial to liver protection.

3. Organic fluoride rodenticide poisoning. This is a highly toxic drug, and 2-3 days after taking it, the dog became restless, vomiting, hypergastroenterism, wandering, barking, paroxysmal convulsions throughout the body, lasting about 1 minute, and finally died.
